Coverpage for some writing I did for one of my story projects. Design of this was inspired by vintage/retro movie posters, colour scheme you can probably guess where that's from.

Basically, when I'm on holiday I have no access to a computer so if I want to work on my story I have to hunt around for paper and write bits of it down in rough. Sometimes I draw covers for these snippets of stories.

Planax is a species that I created, they all have snakes for hair, below the elbow monster arms, fangs (rawr), and crusted blood that forms those x's across their eyes (despite those they can see). Their way of life is almost medieval and very isolated, the Planax in control have a sick sense of humour and enjoy dabbling in other people's lives and 'bringing them to justice' over matters that do not affect them.

The girl in the foreground, Saria, is a Planax and a rebellious one. Her part in the actual story itself is quite small, but in the window period that she appears she's quite a key character. Guy in the background.. well he's an other worldly being she occassionally communicates to (with a lot of risk to her life, Planax are not supposed to talk to spirits).
